Eminem is one of the most popular rapper in the world, whose song is also always the most controversial. He talks about everything he could think of without any taboo. He hates all his family members except his two daughters and uncle Rooney as he thinks most of them are selfish and ridiculous. His songs also target at those people holding a negative opinion about him. What’s more, he insults all the women. From all the news we heard about youth in the U.S, they have always given us a bad image which the American public said could not be unrelated to Eminem.As they said, Eminem’s songs teach those children how to hate people, what to do when hating people and why to kill.

First of all, Eminem himself has already read about these things and respond not even for once. He sang in the song "sing for the moment" that “They say music can alter moods and talk to you,but can it load a gun for you and cock it too?” The problem is not the music from outside or “hate” expressed by Eminem or any other rappers but the inside world of these American children according to Eminem and I’m thinking in the same way too. It’s a problem caused by not only one thing but all the bad things that are available for American children.

When I came to U.S. last year, I did a home-stay in the house of one of my mom’s classmate. They got two kids. Everyday, I saw them playing computer games full of violence which I thought are even too violent for me. Both of them are under 10 years old and to my surprise, their parents never cared about what they were playing. They are only children indeed that they even cried when watching the horror film. For them, violence means nothing. They drag the body of a man up and down until a release of it leads to a splash of blood and they finally laughed out. Will that memory influence their action in the future? Probably will and probably not, but one thing is for sure, they won’t be as frightened as a chinese children when they saw the same thing happens to a real man.

Although there are also many children in china who are interested in Eminem’s rap, we haven’t seen that many crimes commited by Chinese children as American children have commited. Take myself as a example. When I listen to the rap by Eminem, I only think that they are so aggressive and full of energy which can give me the incentive to work harder. They are just music and will never let me think of killing other people. Just like what Eminem said: “ parents think that if I ask the children to shoot themselves, they will definitely do that, but in fact, children are much cleverer than they thought.”

All in all, these are all not Eminem's fault. His childhood is also in the black area of Detroit where is full of crimes and violence. He once said: “ Could you imagine seeing a dead body with eyes opening widely on the way home? I swear to god I’ve seen it. In the following days, what I want is god bless me not to see it again.” Well, if Eminem’s rap let those children become a killer, then what Eminem experienced in his childhood shoud’ve let him become a killer too, but it didn’t, which means that whether the atmosphere influence a child does not depend on how pursuasive they are but the ability to defend the chidren themselves. The real problem that people should care about is how to establish a complete system to lead children to a right way of viewing violence and how to deal with them when such tragerdy like the childhood of Eminem inevitablly happened.

Research question: how does modern technology become a drawback in our lives?

Thesis statement: Although the modern technology has been playing a very important role in our lives since it started to step into every corner of this world; however, it deprived our access to a number of things that was priceless to us.

Introduction: the human history was changed totally when we started to implement different kinds of new technology into our lives. Although people at first didn’t want to accept the technology and even the technology is really expensive and excludable, eventually, every one of us began buying television, air-conditioner, and computer back home. After gradually adapting and even now addicting to technology, the question of whether the technology really improves our lives came into mind, in a time that is exactly when we really need to revise what we have done. For me, as a matter of what I observed, technology screw up our lives in a awkward way that people can see it but never be able to change it.

1^st reason: technology occupies the valuable time of ours that too much of it were spent no longer in those things that are supposed to upgrade our living standard, but things that are more virtual and meaningless.

The first biggest setback in my lifetime

I sometimes still think about the day when the results of high school entrance exam first came out. All the things, confidence, self-respect, honor, were all gone away from me in that day. It was really a surprise for me as my score had never been that low. Not believing that, I kept dialing and dialing the number which would tell me the score (although it will be shown on the website someday after) but the results never change.

That was really a blow to me. I couldn’t eat or drink but only stay in my room. My parents were so worried about me, so they asked me out and bought my favourite game. These things didn’t make any change to me. As I thought I had lost everything, what was the point if I played game at that time? I was so pessimistic about the future that I couldn’t even think of anything I should do.

Just after that, my father told me that I still got one more chance. I could go to the entrance test for the IB school in NSFZ. I signed up after I searched on the internet about IB. I knew this may be my last chance. Even though my score was not adquete, I still went there and talked to the teacher until I pursuaded her to give me a chance for the test.

As there were two parts of the tests which were Math and English, I had to revise those Math problems and English words again so many days after the final exam while nearly all of my classmates had already got their letters of admission. I turned off my cellphone in order not to get access to the “report” of how many of my classmates has been admited by the best high school in Nanjing. What I wanted was just a chance to show I was still capable after the great blow of the middle school test, so I tried harder and harder.

Finally, it came to the day of the test. I told myself I will definitely do a great job. Understanding all the Math concept and recognize all the words, the test was too easy for me.I finished the test before the time was called.

“Why did you choose IB?” The teacher asked.

“Because I want to go abroad and get eduacated different from chinese do” The student beside me answered.

“what about you?”

“ I am confident enough about myself studying abroad in the future and I had done a lot of research showing that it was really suitable for me.”

I answered the question in this way and I would continue to respond with the same answer. I understanded that it does not matter why something happened because we can not control our life all the time perfectly, but we could face the problem directly with our confidence and courage to break down it and go on with our own way.

Thesis statement: laptop and desktop, although both are computers indeed with same functions and composition, have many characteristics that don’t share with each other.

1^st topic sentence: There is a clear difference between the size of laptop and that of desktop.

Supporting details: All the stuffs inside laptop are deliberately made to be smaller than those inside the desktop, e.g. internet card and audio card. Also, the desktop will leave a lot more space inside the “box” to enable the convection of the air so that it is not too hot in the “box”.

2^nd topic sentence: Because of the sizes and many other different characteristics, laptop and desktop satisfy different requirement from people.

Supporting details: laptop is used more by people like businessman who wants to move the computer from place to place to do presentation or receiving email, since most laptop can connect to wi-fi and they are small enough to be put into a suitcase. Desktop satisfies the customer who is able to sit at one place and research on something or maybe just staying at home.

Supporting details: Eardrum is actually very fragile and the long-term using of headphone with a high volume forces the eardrum to work at a high level. Eardrum will then become ineffective.

Supporting details: People cannot hear the sound from outside like the alarm of the cars clearly when they cross the street if they are using headphone. They will not even be aware that there may be a truck coming to them.

What is the sign of being mature?

Children always like to mimic what the adults do as they want to be looking more mature. This is a nature of us. Even for students in my age, we still tend to do things according to the way the older men do. However, sometimes we blow things up as we misunderstand the meaning of “mature”. Being “mature” is actually not only about knowing more people and being busy all the time, but also about how things really work in a rather microscope but not just having a brief idea, in which way we can do things more like a real “adult” but not only in terms of “age”.

Some students in our age consider making a lot of friends a state of being “mature”. They may not realize the friends they are making could have totally different perspective about everything. I am not saying that having some friends not like you is bad but it could indeed make many trouble for them. Our first goal for having a friend is we can talk to this person about how we feel about everything. If they cannot understand you, there is no possibility that they can give any thing useful back to you. What you should do actually is figuring out what kind of people they are in every small “group” around you and find the one that is mostly comfortable for you. In this way, you can have some true friends who can really listen to what you are saying.

Besides, some of us always feel like showing they are really busy because they think being busy meaning they are hardworking and self-controlled. However, the real intelligent people do not spend all their time on one thing but divide it to many things and they do everyone of them efficiently. Also, being busy about something having little value for you is not worth-well. You could even sleep instead at least it will give you some more energy.

In addition, some of my peers often talk about things that they only know a little with much more their own “prediction”. Many of these are about Economics or Politics. They think talking about these things make them mature. Actually, the immature idea they present is just the proof they are only kids.

In conclusion, being mature is not from the outside looking but the how deep the inside world of a person. Experienced elders see through all these things clearly. We are nothing but some kids and there is a lot more that we need to learn before becoming mature.

what people needs today?

“Insecurity”has become a more and more serious problem among people. Especially for Americans who have been through the “9.11”. That's just the reason why people watch movie like “Superman”. Since the whole world is getting more and more competitive, and the pressure is just too much for these people. Everyone deep in side want a hero who can save him or her when they are desperate about something. This “hero” is actually just “security”.
People working in the office may be too concerned about whether they will get a promotion. They have to try their best to do their work and please their boss. They cannot trust people around fully as those people may set them up to acquire what they want. This is a serious problem as we will always have a time when we need someone to talk to. Without such people around us, it could lead to many diseases. In addition, this kind of insecurity can lead to mental problem, too. Actually, the percentage of having a mental problem in the office is comparatively high.
Parents today worried too much about their children, which can be found particularly in China, parents do everything for their children as they think children are too young to do many things for example having the right to manage their own money or staying outside late. While in some situation, they just control too much over their children because of the “insecurity” inside their heart .Their work has created too much trouble for them and they don't want their children to create more, while in fact, what they do stop their children from being mature.
The problem of “insecurity” is not only seen in the individual but also in the country as a whole. Countries like U.S or U.K sometimes pay too much attention on terrorists. They are worried about being attacked by them so they develop more and more weapons to “help” them protect their country. With doing so, they actually force the other countries to have such weapons otherwise they may be too weak. This cycle is just why we have a world like what it is right now. The government take some small things too seriously and it causes the dispute or even war between countries.
All in all, “insecurity” is just caused by people's worries that they cannot control things that they think they should have the ability to control. To acquire the feeling of “security” is very simple. Take it easy! You cannot control everything so just let it be. Don't control them. Don't do anything extra to acquire the control of something as this would damage many beautiful things in the world.That super hero is just inside you.
